Almost Free of Trump - Part 2

Women's March 2017
I was wrong back in October when I honestly believed that it was time to elect a female president of the United States.  Actually, the majority of voters agreed with me, but the Electoral College, which was designed precisely to prevent a dangerous egomaniac from assuming the office, failed to do its job.

So we are stuck with Donald Trump - at least until he does something so egregious that he is impeached.  Frankly, I don't know what that could be since we already know he doesn't pay taxes, sexually assaults women and hates immigrants.

I refuse to go down quietly.  I've always been a political puppy, but now I feel it is my duty to do whatever I can to save this country from a very unstable man.  So I was relieved to learn about Daily Action. Sign up and you get a daily text message about what you can do - usually a phone call to a lawmaker - to resist the juvenile joker.
Here’s how it works: You text the word “DAILY” to the number 228466 (or “ACTION”). After entering your ZIP code, you will receive one text message every workday about an issue that we have determined to be urgent, based on where you live.  Do it today.  You'll feel (slightly) less powerless.

Cut the cord

OK, back to saving money.  In my last post, I listed 7 ways to save money in 2017.  Cutting the cable is at the top of the list.  This week, I did the last part and got rid of my "hard wired" telephone. The only phone calls I received were very annoying robocalls to the point where I just stopped answering the phone.
Thought I would need a FAX machine.  You don't.  Scan it and email it.
Now I pay $40 a month for Wifi, $8 for Netflix, $8 f0r Hulu and $20 for Sling. A total of $76 for everything I once paid close to $300 for with cable!  I borrow codes for HBO GO and Showtime Anytime and I have the world of television and film at my fingertips.

Free Burger

Shake Shack is offering a free burger to promote its new App, which will allow you to order and pay for your food and pick it up when it's ready. To get a gratis single ShackBurger, customers have to download the iOS Shack App, create an account and use the promo code “shackappy” at checkout.
The app was created to help cut down on the burger giant's notoriously long lines.  Customers can now pay for their food via the app and schedule a pick-up in 15-minute increments at locations across the country. They will also get a reminder text when their order is ready.  Users need to download and order via the app by Feb. 28 for the one-per-customer free burger promotion. The promotion — or the app itself — can't be used at airport, stadium or ballpark locations of Shake Shack.
